Antonio Gutierrez lamented the words of Sellam by giving DB vote buying by "offering drugs," believing that "had crossed the threshold of what is tolerable" campaign

In another vein, and after visiting the homes of 'family Nunez', the popular candidate also responded to statements by the leader of CpM Mustafa Aberchan, which alluded to the possibility of airline tickets to cost 30 Peninsula EUR, recalling that there was a debate in Parliament on this issue, particularly when they discussed the possibility of declaring airlines as a public service, something that was rejected by the PSOE, as there were problems of a legal nature. Thus, for Gutierrez would be "more an inconsistency in the coalition incurred by the PSOE-CpM."
On the other hand, after supporting the work they were doing all members of the PP in this election campaign, in order that the popular program reached all parts of the city, Gutierrez commented on the importance of Melilla in elections and the DB campaign.
In fact, the candidate recalled that the Congress was in Melilla where the PSOE lost the absolute majority in a general election in 1989. In turn, qualified that the PP had always invested heavily in the city during his eight years in office. Therefore, he said that "he believed that the citizens would vote melillenses Mariano Rajoy to change and regenerate the Spanish public life." Finally, Gutierrez expressed his satisfaction after the televised debate between Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Mariano Rajoy, believing that the victory of the latter "had more strength for the PP to move forward in this election campaign.
