J. CARNEIRO / VIGO The first debate in fifteen years in public television in Galicia has not convinced analysts and political experts from the community. The "rigidity" in the speeches, which prevented a party the right to reply to the participants, and the "non-aggression pact" between Emilio Pérez Touriño (PSdeG) and Anxo Quintana (BNG) against Alberto Nunez Feijóo (PPdeG) " deslucieron "the televised debate, according to analysts consulted by this newspaper. They agree also that the meeting will not have any impact on the outcome of the elections of March 9 and has been "a trial" before the upcoming regional elections.
Most of the criticisms affect the format of the programe. "Too rigid, by the time at their disposal each participant. Deslució discussion," explains Nieves Lagares, dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in Santiago. Miguel Cancio, a sociologist and economist from the same institution, goes further and described the assembly prior to the discussion of "unfortunate".
This expert also criticized the role of the moderator has been relegated to control the times unable to speak or propose topics. "Obama participates every Sunday in a discussion with three or four journalists who asked him what occurred and for having" compares.
Pedro Arias, an economist of A Coruna, on the other hand ensures that the debate was "ill-conceived" from the beginning, and that the distribution of the interventions was not proportional to the representation of every political force in parliament. "The Government has taken twice as long as the opposition," he says. "There has been a debate, but three monologues," corroborates Cancio. In this sense, "the best thing would have been to hold two debates: one between Touriño and Feijóo, and another between Quintana and Feijóo," she explains.
From the point of view of content, the professor at the University of Vigo Xosé Rúas, an expert on political propaganda, ensures that each leader went to the debate to "strengthen the votes of their electorate." "It has been three meetings to reinforce their voters' authentication. Rúas also distinguishes between three different attitudes among participants. So Touriño defended an image "institutional"; Feijóo acted as "challenging", and reinforced the idea of Quintana's commitment BNG with Galicia. "Each in their role", tinges.
Nieves Lagares, however, a difference that revolved around two strategies simultaneously on Perez Touriño. The first was that of "non-aggression" between the chairman of the Xunta and Quintana, and the second was to polarize the debate between Feijóo and Touriño, which Quintana left on the sidelines. "This gave him the opportunity to seize the BNG some of the achievements of the PSOE as 8% of the national budget and the Act Unit," he explains.
For Lagares, the debate ended with a "solid" Touriño and stressed the "little aggressive tactics" Feijóo.
Cancio threw less that the debate is not over analyse the management of the last legislature in Spain but from the perspective of Galicia. "What we have is respect is judging previous years who had already been punished," argues. It also stressed the "cool image" Feijóo compared to that of their rivals.
Inferiority
Arias also saw a Feijóo with "reflections" that gave the impression of "capable person." "No one won the debate because they are not going to get a change of votes, but Feijóo, who was in inferiority, defended well," clarifies. Also "worked hard" Quintana, as this economist coruñés, disclosed that the idea of "utility" has the presence of BNG in Madrid. "Touriño, on the other hand, came out not to lose," she explains.
And finally, these analysts valued the "polite tone" of conterminously, who avoided the disqualifications.
